May 20, 2017

  • Guided Tour - Enjoy a guided tour of the 1843 lighthouse that is restored to the 1870s. As part of your tour climb the tower and see the original light mechanism. You might even get a chance to wind it up just like the light keeper of the day.
  • Fun and Games at the Lighthouse - While at the lighthouse check out some of the leisure activities that the light keeper and his family would have done. Try games like Bilbo or Cup & Ball, contribute to the hooked mat, or grab a pencil and paper to head out on the cape for some sketching.
  • Natural Wonders at the Cape - Cape Bonavista is one of the best vantage points in the province to view icebergs, whales, puffins and dramatic coastline. You never know what you might see when you are visiting the lighthouse. Check out the Interpretation Centre for more information about all the natural wonders at the Cape.
