  • Guided Tour - Join one of our interpreters for a personalized tour of the Beothuk Interpretation Centre and discover more about these now extinct people

  • Try Your Hand - Try Inuit, Innu, and Mi'kmaq games while at the Beothuk Interpretation Centre

  • For the Kids - Visiting the site with children? Pick up one of our Discovery Backpacks at the front desk to guide your family's exploration of the site.

  • On the Grounds - Borrow a picnic blanket from the front desk at the Visitor Centre to enjoy a nice day out on our grounds. Follow a 1.5km (3km return) trail from the Interpretation Centre through boreal forest to the site where a Beothuk village stood 300 years ago. View Gerald Squires' statue Spirit of the Beothuk along your way.

  • Spirit Garden - Pay respect to the memory of the Beothuk people by leaving an offering out of natural materials that are available at the Interpretation Centre. The Spirit Garden is a short walk from the Centre.

  • Film - Enjoy a short film about the discovery of the Boyd's Cove Beothuk site in our theatre

National Indigenous Peoples Day

A day of reflection & celebration.

Visit and learn what we know about the now vanished Beothuk culture. Come celebrate the Aboriginal culture and traditions that continue to enrich our lives and communities today.
As a part of our celebrations there will be traditional drumming demonstrations periodically throughout the day. Contact us for Details.
